Took 40 years, maybe a couple more. But the 200th Phantom in my collection is done. Always loved this plane. Something about it. Every country in the free world it seems flew them (except of course the one I live in).  The 200th had to be a 1/32 scale, so out came a Tamiya and a set of colourful decals from Tecmod a company out of Poland. The choice of build was Iran. According to the decal instructions this plane was an Iraq MiG -21 killer in the 1980's.

The model itself is out of the box. The only modifications were the removal of the RWR and the big nose sensor system. As everyone knows Tamiya did its research on a aircraft maintenance trainer. One that had a great many sheets of metal applied from trainees. Instead of removing them as I usually do I left them on. Some had yellow primer painted over to represent possible battle damage.

It just so happens that the day I finished this model I had to dust ALL my Phantoms and the shelves they sit on. That is 130 Phantoms on the floor. Over the years 70 have been tossed, dropped or given away. Only so much room in the display room after all.
