Mi-2 Peruvian Army
"Las Palmas" Air Base,Chorrillos,Peru 

This Polish kit has good shape, plastic is somewhat  thick, interior details are not so good, but enough to look acceptable.

Modifications:

  • Addition of weight into the cabin.

  • Bending of main rotor blades.

  • Addition of few details in both fuel tanks.

Painting:
This model shows new colors for helicopters in Peruvian army service. Scheme was took from several pictures, consisting of:
Dark sea blue (FS 15042) mixed with a little of Flat white (FS 37875), Dark Ghost Gray (FS 36320) for stripes and Flat white. 

Decals: 
Homemade from a local hobby store and some few from the same kit.

Mi-2's were bought in 1999 for training and then for reconnaissance and attack duties.  Almost all of them are based at "Las Palmas" Air Base in Chorrillos, Lima.
