This is a Whirlykits resin model with white metal details and Whirlybird decals that I bought about 18 months ago but didn't have courage to start. I have only built injection moulded and a few vac-formed models so didn't know what to expect from an all resin kit. I read not to inhale the dust ( sand everything wet ) and use superglue. The mouldings were nice and crisp with only a few air bubbles on the leading edge of one wing and fit together really well. Hardly any filler was used on the model, only a small amount on the fuselage join. The white metal detail parts are excellent, just a little bit of cleaning up needed.

The silver finish is my favourite Tamiya aerosol, which I find easy to use and gives a great result. All other paints are Humbroll enamels, panel lines are done with a 4B pencil.

The Whirlybird decals are easy to use (follow the instructions) and give a fantastic finish. I can thoroughly recommend one of Whirlykits Lightnings as the are easy to build, detail is amazing but most of all they are the most accurate Lightnings in this scale.
