This Plastic Model Club Montex paint masks from Design & Marketing Int'l contains markings for 2 different 1/24 P-51D's.

These are painting masks to permit you to paint all the markings on these 2 aircraft. This will give you the most accurate look to your 1/24 P-51D. Painting markings on aircraft models is not new, but until now this technique has only been done by the totally dedicated modellers. Also included are two sets of canopy painting masks.

The first aircraft is a P-51D with the 77th fighter Squadron. The paint scheme is silver/natural metal overall. The anti-glare panel is Dark Green. There are black stripes on the side of the engine cowling by the exhausts and the prop spinner is black with a white cone. There is a black "LC X" on the side of the rear fuselage with a white "X" on a black circle on the side of the tail. National insignias are included as painting masks as are all markings on these aircraft....including the script of "Maggie" on the side of the lower engine cowling.

The second aircraft is a P-51D with the 77th fighter Squadron. The paint scheme is silver/natural metal on the sides of the fuselage and underside. The anti-glare panel is Olive Drab as is the top side of the entire aircraft that also comes down the side of the fuselage and tail slightly. The prop spinner is black with a white cone. There is a black "LC M" on the side of the rear fuselage with a white "M" on a black circle on the side of the tail. National insignias are included as painting masks as are all markings on these aircraft....including the script of "IT'S THE KID!" on the side of the lower engine cowling.

The instructions are clear and include 4 angle colour drawings to assist in painting the markings.

The concept of buying precut painting masks is one I find very attractive and for the larger scales this is one option well worth considering for your next project.......no more fears of decal silvering.

A very nice set of masks and will be well worth trying for anyone building a your next 1/24 P-51D.
