This new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes markings for 2 special P-51D's.

The first Mustang is a P-51D-25-NA flown by Maj. Robin Olds "Scat VII" with the 434rd FS, 479th FG.  This P-51 has script on the side of the nose of that reads SCAT VII.  The prop spinner is probably highly polished metal.  Black code letters on the fuselage are L2 W.  The anti-glare panel is Olive Drab.  This Mustang has a large number of kill markings along the bottom part of the canopy frame.  The rudder bright red.

The second Mustang is a P-51D-5-NA flown by Capt. Jack M. Ilfrey 79th FS of the 20th FG with the 8th AF out of Kingscliffe, England in the summer 1944.  This P-51 has script on the side of the nose of that reads "Happy Jacks Go Buggy".  This Mustang has a large number of mission markings along the top side of the engine cowling.  The prop spinner is white and black striped and has a black band around the nose directly behind the prop spinner.  Black code letters with red outlines on the fuselage are MC O.  The anti-glare panel is Olive Drab as is the top along the fuselage and the top of the wings.

The decals were flawlessly printed and in perfect registration with good colour.

The instructions are clear and include colour drawings to assist in decal placement. There is also 1 page of text including with helpful info on decal installation and some info about both planes.

Recommended kits are the 1/32 Dragon P-51 or the 1/32 Hasegawa P-51D or the 1/32 Monogram P-51D.

The P-51 Mustang is one of the most beautiful fighters produced during WW2 and it's a definite pleasure to see these markings in 1/32.

I would like to thank Cutting Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
