CAF C-130
Tactical Camo Scheme Circa 1980 - 1990's
This new decal
sheet from
Leading
Edge Models includes markings for two different
1/72 CAF C-130.
These are the highest flight hour C-130's in the world. But you also get
full serial number stencils to make any of the CAF C-130's including the Hercs
that were fitted with wing refueling pods to make them tankers for mid air
refueling.
The first
aircraft is a C-130E #130315 originally purchased in 1965 and retired in 1995
after 45,277 flight hours.
The
second aircraft is
a C-130H #130342 and is one
of the 5 HC-130 tankers operated by the CAF. This Herc has artwork of a
camel and rider from it's time in Kuwait with "Operation South Watch"
in 1998.

To get refueling pods you can get
them from the 1/72 Matchbox/Revell Handley Page Victor model kit which includes
a very close refueling pod. Side view line drawing profiles are included
on the instruction sheet to help you get the proportions correct.
The instructions are clear and
include 2 views of each aircraft. The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal sheet. One complete set of stencils is included on this decal
sheet including propeller tip decals and a full set of serial number decals to
make any CAF C-130's.
I have long wanted to built one
of the CAF C1-30's in this Grey/Grey/Green Tactical
Camo Scheme as I think this is the most eye catching scheme worn by the
Canadian Hercs, so the release of this decal sheet is a very welcomed
event. This sheet is also available in 1/48 scale.
