Authentic Decals (a division of Olimp Models Group)

I would like to inform all the MiG-29 fans about newest release from Authentic Decals

It is always nice when manufacturer comes back to the item he covered recently only to give the modelers more options to build. This is exactly the case with MiG 29 (9-13). Very soon after issuing Part I Authentic Decals endeavored to release Part II.

As usual, the quality of these decals is a top notch. They are clearly printed and all roundels are in perfect register. The lacquer layer is also very thin.

You get one full set of stencils as well as national insignia. There are 4 pages of instruction sheets showing decal placement and camo layout.

The set traditionally packed up in a zip plastic bag with cardboard sheet which prevents it from bending. The back side of it is a colour guide covering some of the options provided by the manufacturer. There also some of the variants from Part One probably to encourage our fellow modelers to build more MiG-29’s

Part II offer us 9 options for MiG-29 (9-13). There are three options for Ukrainian MiGs, 5 options for Russian VVS and one for Belarus MiG-29. All of the options are colourful enough with either interesting emblems or camouflage or both. It would be quite a challenge to choose the best option.

• Option One offers MiG-29 named after P.A. Poktyshev of Ukrainian VVS

(See Photo 05)

Comparison with photos confirms exact match of the camouflage lines and all the emblems

• Option Two offers the aircraft named after Leonid Bykov, again of the Ukrainian VVC

(See Photo 06 goes here)

Model of MiG-29 (9-13) in 1:72 by ICM offers this option too. However the way put Леонiд Биков (Leonid Bykov) does not correspond with the photos of the actual aircraft. Authentic had fixed that mistake here.

• Option Three is the most colorful of all with Byelorussian MiG-29 (9-13)

(See Photo 07)

Colour scheme reflects camo and markings of the real aircraft as seen on the photo

• Option Four and Five reflect shark-mouthed MiGs from Zernograd

(See Photo 08)

• Option Six is the MiG-29 from Russian Airbase in Armenia

• Option Seven and Eight are the Kursk Regiment aircrafts from Halino AB.

(See Photo 09)

MiG-29 named after Hero of the Soviet Union Guards Captain Nikolay Andrianovich bort 29 carries the Guards Emblem and City of Kursk Coat of Arms .

• Option Nine offers us the most colorful aircraft of all from this decal sheet.

(See Photo 10)

This is a unique aircraft from Belbek AB with its camouflage paint scheme going back to the 90th of the last century.

All in all nine variants well correspond with photos of real aircraft. It has to be said that some parts of the aircraft being subjected to elements get their colours somewhat diluted.

In case you were wondering what the MiG-29 (9-13) Fulcrum C Part I set is, here are the pictures of the actual decal and its instructions. The set is traditionally made in both 1:72 and 1:48 scale.

(See Photos 11 & 12)

And just to remind you that Authentic Decals also produced another two excellent sets covering  modification 9-12 (early single-seater) MiG-29 Fulcrum A

(See Photos 13 & 14)

and 9-51 (two-seater version) of MiG-29 Fulcrum B which is also available both in 1:72 and 1:48 scale.

(See Photos 15, 16 & 17)
